Food Security & Agriculture

More than one billion people in our world go to bed hungry each night. Children who survive childhoods of severe hunger rarely reach their full physical and mental potential.

Climate change, high population growth, political and social oppression, poor governance and infrastructure, non-sustainable farming practices and limited knowledge and access to credit and other farming inputs contribute to food shortages, famine and death in the countries in which SIMaid works. Through on-ground research and demonstration SIMaid workers are helping local communities understand and better manage their environments to improve food and income security, health and nutrition.
